Re: Screen

P.S. I also own a Hitachi LCD CP-RS55 my screen looks normal for the first 2 mins then as it gets warmer the screen get a blue blob or streak.. Then in about 10 mins the streak takes up half the screen image. I was told by a t.v. repair guy the lcd panels need replacement. However, These projectors are WAY outdated (things built a year ago are already a thing of the past)and to fix it would cost as much as a new one or a good used one.

I can't get a picture to come up.

Have you gone into your setup menu on the satellite and changed any display settings? My 60" HDTV was doing similar things and i was not able to use picture format on my controller to get fom zoom to wide screen, and so on. I had to go into my dish menu and go to setup then video and adjust some settings to display the TV resolution ratio. I was not in the HDMI connection menu when the new TV was origianlly installed to my DIsh. Also had to do same thing on my PS3 under settings and video output resolution.

Just a thought!

There is too much blue on the screen & not enough green coloring

Have a very close look at the blue and see if it's perfectly uniform across the whole screen.
If it is then altering the hue or colour temperature settings in the menu may help.
If it's not then either there are heaps of pixel failures (appearing as small rectangular spots) or degradation of the polarisers (green may be affected more than the others).
If you show the menu, do the white areas appear bluish.
If the lamp is very old then colour changes start to happen.

Screen is blue in colour though still has picture. Have changed bulb but it was one left with projector when we purchased house so unsure if new/used. Have read other blogs and they say LCD faulty -...

Is the whole screen bluish in colour or just areas. If you look closely at the screen are the bluish areas composed of rectangular pixel shapes. If it is then the blue lcd panel may have dead pixels, otherwise it's a glass polarizer plate that may be degraded due to aging.

New Bulb (30 hrs). Screen flickers after 10 minutes, color changes with green tint, then bulb shuts off.

Hi, I had a similar problem - the screen flicked through blue, green and red sometimes with a slight ticking noise. The problem seems to be that the colour-wheel is getting stuck - the first time this happened I sent it back to optoma who gave it a clean - it has happened again since thouegh and I just took the case off (you'll be able to see the colour wheel under a black plastic flap - remove the flap) I then used a cotton bud (q-tip) and turned the colour wheel whilst lightly pressing the cotton bud against the wheel - I also gave everything a blast with a can of air. My HD72i is ceiling mounted - optoma suggested putting the hoover pipe across the vents every now and then to keep the dust down. Essentially it's dust that is stopping the movement of the colour wheel.

Hope this helps.

Colour problems with projector

In short If the reds show as red, The greens show as green & Blue shows as blue. I would say thats as good as it can project. It's hard to judge color without seeing it for ones self but usually DLP projectors that use a colorwheel do not have perfect color.
