Had my 2005 Dakota trans serviced about 1000 miles ago. Now it is throwing codes p0700 and p0740. Seems to run fine at highway speeds but sometimes shifts hard in town and recently it does not always go into reverse when first shifted.

P1521 - VRIS Solenoid 1 I have replaced the VRIS (Variable resonance idle solenoid 1).
P0750 - Shift Solenoid A malfunction
There is more than one solenoid in the valve body and to make sure he is replacing the right one. I will say that with an electrical malfunction code---it's usually the wiring or the solenoid----so not a real bad choice. Come to think of it I think there will be 4 solenoids---A,B,EPC and TCC. So he needs to find out which one is the bad one before he goes replacing.

Good luck

OBDII Codes 2006 Chevy 2500HD w/ 6.6L Duramax "Truck started losing power when warm, when cold for the first 10 miles or so the trunk runs great."

You need a dealer, there is a real problem going on here, way over the head of any home do it yourselfer. The main reason is the special tools required to interface with the control modules that are throwing these codes

2005 Dodge dakota transmission fluid light, wont go over 40

Yeah, generic "circuit malfunction" codes, it's a bad solenoid or two or valve body, either of which can be fixed by a HONEST transmission guy with high end diagnostic gear CHEAPER than a new tranny. OR...you can check solenoids yourself as you replace tranny fluid/filter, new fluid and filter did it for me once

I have a 06 dodge dakota with 3.7L V6 engine. have troublecodes P0218, P0700, P0740, & P1775 showing on the diagonistic tool. what do i need to do to fix the codes listed?

All four codes involve the transmission.
Code 218 was for high trans fluid temp.
Code 700 was for a problem with the trans control circuits.
Code 740 involved the torque converter.
And code 1775 may have been for the malfunction indicator lamp.
Sounds like the transmission overheated for some reason, which could have cooked the fluid.

My check engine light is coming on with P0700 and P0740 what does this mean

There are a couple of possibilities. 1. Most unlikely there is debris in the torque converter lockup solenoid preventing it from working properly. 2. Twist likely the torque converter has or is going bad. What does the trans fluid look like? Is it a redish color or has it turned brown or black? When was the last time the transmission was serviced? Have you noticed higher engine RPM's while cruising at highway speeds?

P0700 is just to tell you there is a trans code stored . P1794 is a vehicle speed sensor problem or output speed sensor problem depending on the trans type. P0501 is a body computer code for no vehicle speed signal.I would replace the output speed sensor.

Engine dying while running full speed and sometimes at idle. Appears to be an ignition problem. At highway speeds the truck will restart itself while in drive. At slower speeds it has to be put in neutral...

This is an electrical problem, I had this last winter where the car was restarting or the starter was not disengaging. The problem was with the starter. the contacts that meet the plunger in the starter were grooved severely and binded with the contacts.
I had to replace the contacts inside the starter.

2001 dodge caravan p0700 code

Hello! Well - both of these codes are in reference to shift pack issues. P0700 is related to torque management, designed to reduce the RPM's at highway speed and lock up the torque converter. If it's throwing this code, there is a strong likelihood that the clutch packs are damaged. P0740 is directly related and will most likely result in the need for the clutch packs being replaced. I wish I had better news to report. :(

Hope this helps and good luck!
