Question about Dell E173FP 17" LCD Flat Panel Monitor

Dell Touch screen comes on for seconds and goes off

I have a dell touch screen with an internal power supply, and when I turn it on it comes on for a couple of seconds and then goes off. I am thinking it is the power supply, inside the touch screen. Is it the power supply and how can I get it fixed? Is it something I can do myself? I am handy at repairs. Dennisboldt

Sounds like it went to sleep due to low battery power. May be time for a new battery if it isn't holding charge well.

Plug it into the wall and push the power button once. It may come back on. If not...

Hold the power button down until the machine shuts off completely. If that doesn't work, remove the battery.

check all connections. then separate the wiring so it doesn't touch. sometimes the cross-talk caused by wires touching can reroute the signals. good luck.

Before Working Inside Your Computer notice.gif NOTICE: Before touching anything inside your computer, ground yourself by touching an unpainted metal surface, such as the metal at the back of the computer. While you work, periodically touch an unpainted metal surface to dissipate any static electricity that could harm internal components.
You can try resetting the motherboard. To do the same follow the following steps

1. Disconnect all the cables from the back of the computer
2. Look for a silver coin shaped battery on the motheboard.
3. Pry the battery out using a filer or falt head srewdriver. Be careful not to damage the motherboard
4. Press the power button in the front for 5 seconds
