Question about Quinn-Curtis Real-Time Graphics VB w/Source (WINVB202)

Problem with meter

I use the real-time graphics Active X Control WIN-AXC-200 Version 1.0 with Visual Basic 5 and Windows NT 4.0. In my software, there is a screen with several meters and several frames. One frame is hidden at the load of the screen. When the user strikes spacebar key, this frame appears or disappears. But if we strike several times on spacebar, the software doesn't react anymore : it seems that the software doesn't receive anymore events about the keyboard. We have to click on a meter and then software works well. This software is installed on several computers but the problem occurs only on few computers. So it seems that there is a problem with the meters and the configuration of the computer. What can I do to solve this problem? Thanks.

Keyboard event are delivered to the component that has "keyboard focus". Looks like somebody is stealing focus from your active x control. It would be the best to find whom and disable it but if not the quickest hack is: 1. set timer in you application say for 100 milliseconds. 2. check if your your active x control has focus (there should be analog of GetFocus in VB). 3. if not - call something similar to Win32.SetFocus with the handle of your control. Let me know if you still have problems.

I have a full copy of visual cadd v4, but it wont install on my pc. im running windows vista 32-bit Home Premium

This is due to software compatibilty issues with Vista(x32bit).
Here some options you can try:-
1. You can try installing the software in "safemode" using the "Vista compatibility mode", but no assurance it will work. (FYI - V3.0/4.0 are not longer supported by the developer)

2. Upgrade to a newer version - Visual CADD 5, when patched to the latest 5.0.6 should work just fine with Vista.

Hope it helps.

Does CAD KEY 19 work in windows 7 ?

If you run it in Windows 7 in Windows 95/98/00 or NT 4.x compatibility mode then there is no reason why it wouldn't work. To do this;
1. Right-click on the executable (.exe) file and click on 'Properties'
2. Click on the 'Compatibility' tab
3. Check the box next to 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:'
4. Select 'Windows 98/Windows Me', 'Windows 2000' or 'Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5)'
5. Click 'Apply' then 'OK'
6. Double-click the executable (.exe) file to open.

Hope this helps!

Matt

I can't install a visual basic 6.0. because I've been accidentally deleted the some components of system32. most especially the config.nt

If my memory serves, VB 6 was the last dos/windows version and windows;nt was simply a text file that held some config parameters when it ran in nt mode. I woud suggest you update your software, but if you are unable to do that, you might try reloading nt from diskette or CD. I think NT also supported the undelete command. If it hasn't been very long since you erased it, you may be able to restore it with an undelete. I think that was the command name.

Installing jetflash 2 windowsme

Download and install the following files and try again. The should also work with Windows ME as it is just a dressed up version of Windows 98.

For Windows 95, 98 and NT VBRun60.exe - VBRun60.exe installs Visual Basic 6.0 run-time files.
VBRun60sp5.exe - VBRun60sp5.exe installs Visual Basic 6.0 sp5 run-time files

For Windows 98 only DCOM98.exe - Extends the support for Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) for Microsoft Windows 98.
