Hi I am currently having problems with my xdaii originally had no problems whatsoever until I upgraded the rom.
Since downloading and following all in instructions from the 02 site, my xda ii mini wont turn on. It is stuck on the screen saying serial or usb on the top with v1.oo on the bottom.
I have hard set the unit and sometimes it would start but it often updates itself on startup and will update and go back to the v1.00 blank screen again. I have had no problems and thought the rom would be beneficial. Your help will be well appreciated as I miss the mini.

This is a common problem with many Pocket PCs.
Some of those in which I have experienced this is,
O2 Xda Atom, O2 Xda Flame and many others.
We Call this as the "Sleeping Beauty".
I don't think you need to worry about this one as it causes no problem to the hardware.
Some say that upgrading your ROM can solve this problem as this happens due to the characteristics of the ROM.
Hi Kumar, Nice to find u here . Do u have upgrade of XDA II Mini. I m on original version. Havent used this set in a while as i m on Iphone. So i was wondering if u can help?? Hoping to hear soon, Thnx
This is the suggestion they provide on O2 website for such problems:
Perform a soft reset (PDA phone) or re-boot the device (Smartphone) and test again.
Perform a hard reset (PDA phone) or return to default settings (Smartphone) and test again. (read below before dong this)
Check that the application still fails to execute after you upgraded the ROM (OS) to the latest revision. If you haven't upgraded your ROM (OS) do so now and check again.
But before doing the hard reset, I suggest you try installing other camera software for windows mobile 5 and check if the camera still working (not a hardware problem). If its still fail, try the hard reset after backing up all you data.
OK your phone is most probable stuck in bootloader mode and needs to accept a USB connection with the correct ROM image to be reprogrammed. You will see on the screen that there stands Bootloader/Serial if you look carefully. Check if you can see this text. Try a master reset on the phone as per rom installation instruction. (Top mennu buttons and reset simultaniously). Let me know there are more ways to solve the problem.
I would say that either the upgrade package is not compatable with your device and has not installed anything beyond flashing/deleting the current installed eeprom info (no info on the eeprom at all) or the device has been restarted or uplugged during the flash eeprom stage, the factory/master reset should take you back to config mode at least, when trying the master reset the power should be on, then activate the master reset with a paperclip or pin only will work, press and hold until the red light goes out, remove the pin or paperclip activator and your device should power up as normal with the old eeprom info or ready for new eeprom info to flashed onto it if you are successful here ensure you use the istall package that came with this device Should be WinMobile/II or IIe I think.
