Try cleaning the filter. If the area where it is installed is enclosed this will also cause over heating.. Make sure you have adequate air flow in the place where it is located and clean the filter.
Hi, Did you buy it new? How many hours does it have on it. I have a Sharp projector for which I bought a used bulb which started for 1 - 2 mins then shut off. Restarted a minute later then shut off again. I bought a new bulb and that solved the problem. It could also be a weak ballast if the bulb has low hours or if the filters are dirty, it could overheat and shut off. Make sure the filters are clean and the cooling fans are running and the unit has good ventilation.
Pretty sure it the bulb as most are rated at 2000 hours; but also check for full air flow - clean filters etc. Bulbs can run hotter as they age, so air flow is more important, because there is an inside heat sensor that will shut the machine down.
Check for good air flow: that filters are clean and the fans are running and not blocked. Check the bulb hours - it may be nearing the end of its life expectancy. If heat is the problem, the inside temperature sensor will shut down the machine or it may be faulty. Inside electronics would be the next suspect.
may be either the colorwheel or the ballast. if you hear the colorwheel spin up (high-pitched whir), replace the ballast. if you don't hear it, replace the colorwheel.
if just the lamp turns off and the rest of the projector is running, it's time to change the lamp. if the whole projector turns off (not goes through shut down), it may be a power supply problem.
I have the exact same problem....PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Same problem and then the warning light keeps blinking.
