Question about Dell 1600n All-In-One Laser Printer

1 Answer

Copying When copying one sheet, the printer always feeds a second blank sheet through. This slows the process down when copying multiple sheets. If I ask for 50 copies, 100 sheets will go through my printer

Re: copying

It seems to me that the tray sizes are not programmed correctly. A4 size is european and and slightly longer than letter size. If programmed to A4, the unit will behave as you described.

Can't work out how to use the multiscan? I press scan and it comes up with multiscan and I put the first piece of paper in but don't seem to get asked for any more sheets and it therefore just scans one...

Put the pages in the "multiscan" all at once, not just one sheet at a time. The Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) will feed one sheet of your document at a time untill all of the pages are scanned...

Sheet feed won't work

When you reinstall the blue plastic piece underneath, the white plastic sheet that closes over the glass must hang over the blue plastic piece, not tuck under it.

Paper jam light is on

Hi! I have the same issue. The only solution I still use: select print from document with no paper in the hp's feeder. Let the printer go on "paper out" message, now put the paper into the feeder and press the print button on the printer. Success!

Slower printing speed

Multiple sheet feeding in any printer can mean many things. Paper roller blockages and jams, wrong paper for printer, too much paper in. Make sure you check right down the back and inside the unit for anh small blocks. This can then cause errors in the printer itself. As it is now printing but slow, the paer issue could be resoved but you may now have driver errors or pc issues. Are you getting any flashing LED lights. Have you checked to see if device is showing errors or functioning correctly. Go to start menu, control panel, performance/main, system, devices, scroll down to your printer, are there any yellow exclamations? Does it say it is working ok?
