As above, this camera quit working and only showed the multi color slanted lines on screen and can't take pictures or change menus or anything. Would a bad battery or low voltage cause this?
-   tengo una camara audiovox dc400 con un problema en la pantalla, aparecen rallas verticales de colores y no se ven las fotografias y videos en la pantalla.cuando la conecto a la pc con el cable usb se ve bien.-   Guest
No this is clearly a CCD sensor problem ( CCD generates image in v-cams and still digital cameras ) if the sensor is outputting too much noise then your image will be distorted just like yours is. If the sensor is outputting nothing then camera shows blank screen ( also notice that with this problem you can playback OK ). Replace CCD block.

Have had camera for some time but have never been able to view the video outside of the camera. Would love any tips on making that happen. I went to find any software or manual for such instruction, but I cannot find them. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I really loved this little camera/camcorder and used it a lot.
Daily in fact, packed it around with me everywhere. (Camera is worthless if not with you!).
The view screen just will not go into normal mode after powering on and has only just about came back to normal only once but was slanted like the multicolor blocks and didn't zoom or take pictures or have menu working or anything and when re-powered up was back to the blocks. These blocks do have zoom, (seeing little bar move up and down not the blocks getting changed around), and no pictures with menu working but also seams to be stuck in camera mode only and not switching to other things like normal. Did just once also yesterday after not touched for a few months power up to a half white and half black screen with white on right side and black on left side this also will not zoom or take pictures or have menu working. This only lasted about a few minutes and back to multi-blocks.
Today I've opened it up and pushed on all the connections to make sure they are fully seated and not knowing about screws under bottom model number sticker I've busted a few more plastic clips inside, a bit like the busted ones that used to hold battery/card door closed long ago. Thats when this all started, when I super glued, (glue job was done very well with out any extra getting anyplace else!), a tiny plastic clip chunk back into place trying to not have to have the camera held together with rubber bands anymore. I'd been holding the door closed with rubber bands for a year or so. Afet the neck strap broke and camera started to get dropped a lot the little locking closed clips started to bust and only way to keep the door closed was rubber bands luck.
I really miss this and wanted to figure out a fix.
Would an old battery with fewer AmpHr's or maybe a bit lower voltage do something like this ?????????
I thought the battery was acting up a bit before this started.
THANKS
