We have a router and our laptops are showing "connected" with "excellent" signal, but we hare not able to sign on the internet. Any clues what we may be doing wrong.
-   I have a Netgear (WGR614NA) wireless router and from some now I have been having problem connecting to the Internet with it. My lap top has the wireless built in stuff, it detects the wireless signal, and indicates that the wireless signal is strong but when ever I attempt to load my Internet browser it gives me an error message saying that it is unable to load page. Interestingly, I am able to connect to other wireless networks with this identical computer but not my own wireless network at home. Can any one help me resolve this issue?

-   When using the install wizard I was not confident that the install was done correctly. How do you know if the router is installed correctly? There is not an icon on the decktop showing and there is nothing showing on the control panel. If it is not installed correctly should you just start the wizard again and go through the whole process again? I am totally lost. 1) I have gone through the installation process several times. 2) I have named my router 3) If you are supposed to connect your laptop to the router through the control panel it will not let me, it says that I am not using a windows program to use the Netgear program to connect. Like I said, I am totally lost.-   Lostsenior
you need to get into the routers settings and look for DHCP, and enable it so as to give your pc's there automatic ip addresses, also check in the general settings if it's a modem router that you have got a internet connection from your ISP and all the dns and ip addresses are showing.
Go to the properties of each network card in network connections in your control panel and click on the TCP/IP line and click properties again and ensure obtain ip address automatically is selected and click ok.
Restart all pc's if neccasary and refresh your web browser when trying to get online.

We have a 3000 sq ft split level house, so range is critical (could we extend range with antennas, access points)?
Stability and reliability are also critical
We use a comcast cable modem
Must support mixed environment - 2 Macs connecting wirelessly, 2 PCs (1 with a wired connection)
We all want to be able to share a printer (which will connect to router with a wired connection)
Network attached storage, media streaming - I'm not worried about these now, looking for basic connectivity. Though would be great if I could grow into this in the future...

I have a dlink wbr-2310. My wireless works, but only after a fashion: it seems like whenever I want to use the wireless connection, I have to connect to the router console and simply go to the wireless settings and save them again. The router restarts, and the wireless connection is good. Next day, I have to do it all again. Why doesn't the wireless connection work without me having to do this?

My PC broadband connection gives limited/no connectivity errors (windows XP SP3). The PC wireless adapter (Tenda W541U v2.0 USB modem) shows with zero IP address on the router (Speedtouch 585 v5). DHCP is enabled on the router. All elements have been rebooted. My laptop connects wirelessly without issues.
