HP Photosmart 3313 All in Printer

I have had the HP Photosmart 3313 All in one printer over a year with no problems and of course the warranty is over. The problem I am having now is the copying and scanning. When I copy, I get a vertical line running the lenght of the paper. I also get the line when I scan an image. The line appears in the window (when copy preview). The problem is driving me crazy because I have done all troubleshooting requirements and then some. I do notice that when I print a large volume of copies that the vertical line fades a lot but, does not dissapear totally. I have all online updates in software too. My last option is to reinstall my software and then update it online Any Clue? If it cannot be fixed in house, would it be cheaper to buy another one or take it to a HP dealer and request to have it fixed? Also, if the piece or part can be identified as to what the problem is, what does it generally cost to replace that piece or part?

    When I copy on my HP 1410 All-in-one printer, I get a vertical line running the length of the paper. I have tried cleaner sheets with no improvement. No line appears on printouts.

    When I push the scan button on the front panel of the hp up comes the choice of HP Document Printer. When I then hit the start button the viewer shows that statement, starting scan....

    but then nothing happens.

    The HP image zone is also not operating.

The error code you are seeing may or may not have to do with the cartridges being refilled.

Here's the thing, yes, you can refill your cartridges or use re manufactured cartridges, but you may run into problems.

Most people think, 'well of course that is what HP or an HP representative would say', but I have done some research and found that many others have too. Here is a perfect example of somebody who does not work for HP in any way and basically is a customer advocate (in my opinion) ;Should you refill your printer's ink cartridges? I found the above article interesting and genuine.

To summarize, again, yes you can refill the cartridges. The printer is not programmed to reject them. Sometimes the cartridges will not work and of course because they are non HP, HP would not be able to do anything to help. HP cartridges have a 2 year manufacture warranty;Limited Warranty for HP Ink Cartridges and Customer-Replaceable Printheads for HP Inkjet Supplies, this may give you comfort knowing HP stand behind their product.

I recieve Ink System failure error message with error code 0xc18a0206 on my HP PHOTOSMART C7180 ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER.

The error that you are having is a hardware issue, it means your printer has an Ink System Failure. Believe me, there's no use going through troubleshooting for this one. Call HP and just Upgrade your printer. HP Printer Tech Support would be more than happy in giving you discounts and an extra year of warranty for $1.00.

C4780 printer cartridge problem cannot fix problem is this same as ink cartridge problem what do i do tried cleaning ink cartridges but still says samething on display it happend in middle of printing...

Ok. As per your statement , the power cable is working properly. So , the problem is with your printer only. If you are using the original cartridges and still having the priblem , it is only the defualt printer. If you are having the extended warnty for (3) years , you are adviced to contact ' HP Authorised Service Partner'. they will replace your old printer with new one. Generally the HP company is giving 1 OR 2 years warranty for replacement.If have paid extra amount for extended warranty , your printer may have warranty up to (3) years. So, within the period of (3), the HP Authorised Service Center will replace your printer. They will give reciept for your old printer, and replace your prionter within a (15) days to (25) days with new one. If the printer is not having warranty or extended warranty , the printer is assumed to be as damaged. So, you have to purchage the new one. Be, cuacious the HP printers are not repairable. Please don't try to approach the local repairer.They will eat your money and also don't try to purchase very very very costly HP in cartridges. I think your problem may be solved.

Contact HP. Your printer needs to be reset to work with the European cartridges. If your printer is no longer in warranty, check the warranty on your cartridges and contact HP for warranty support on your cartridges.

Scanner : could not find required user interface

I just turned off my firewall protection with CA security center (virus software) and my scanner came back to life. I've had nothing but problems with CA so it's back to Norton for me!

Go to: and I think you'll find what you need to solve the problem. often this type of error is caused by trying to clear a paper jam by pulling it out the wrong way, one or two of the gears slip and everything gets out of sync. If you can't solve your problem with the HP troubleshooter, please ask again and I can try and talk you through the resetting process. Hope this helps:)
