I am trying to update my satellite locator using windows vista, it plugs into the computer via a usb. I have downloaded the loader for the finder and it says it is unable to locate com port 1. I have tried every usb on my desktop and it is the same. From what I see these usb ports are identified by letters,ie;j,k,l etc.. Any help wou8ld be very much appreciated as I am LOST!!!!
Com port referes to a serial port. It looks like a monitor port only smaller. Since yuo connect via USB, it may be that the locator software is set to use Serial port or Comm Prot. See if it can be changed to USB. Perhaps load the software before or after plugin in the unit, that may make a differernce.
