Question about CTX Optoma EzPro 610H Multimedia Projector
I have an Acer PD120D projector and when you hit the power button on the projector or the remote the power button turns blue like normal and then the lamp light comes on and then it shuts back off. This is a sudden problem, and I am new on the job and no one knows where the users manual went. Anyone have any ideas where to start on troubleshooting? Thanks for any suggestions.
I believe this is a problem similar to projectors with metal halide lamps. when the lamp is at the end of its life it does this thing called cycling, where it sparks but theres not enough voltage to start the light. for more info see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_halide_lamp
under the heading "End of Life"
unfortunately, if i'm right about this, it means getting a new lamp, v. expensive...
