"NO SIGNAL" message on screen

I am getting the "NO SIGNAL" message on the screen. The TV is not hooked up to cable, I just want to watch a DVD. I can't find the manual to try to troubleshoot. ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

THANK YOU! I am so happy it was a simple solution. Without the manual, I was afraid to just start pressing buttons!

You need to press the INPUT button on the TV or the remote control until you've selected DVD as the signal source. Then you'll be able to watch the DVD.

A manual is available for download from the website tv.manualsonline.com. It's free, but they ask you to register. I've gotten many manuals through the site and it hasn't generated any spam emails or caused any problems.

Just remember: You can't hurt the TV by pushing buttons. That's what they're for. If you don't know what a button does, press it and see what happens.

Not receiving a TV signal through the DVD recorder and cannot record programs or watch TV through the DVD recorder

Firstly you must have a good connection from your antennae to the dvd recorder, secondly a good connection between recorder and tv
via scart lead or hdmi. Check these out before you do anything else.

I have a 32" LCD TV that I can't seem to get any of my DVD players to work on. Keep getting error message "no video signal" but They use to work. help

How do you have your DVD player hooked up to your TV(i.e. composite, s-video, component)? Some DVD payers and TVs have menus to switch inputs and if you somehow switched off the input your players are connected to, you'll get a "no signal" message.  First try hitting the input button on your TV or the Input/connection option in your TV's menu.  If that doesn't work try hooking up the DVD player(s) with the composite Cable(yellow), the component(red, green, blue) and S-Video(black/round) at the same time. If you scroll through your TV's inputs you should get a picture on one of these connections and the TV should display which one. The display will usually be in the corner of the screen.

Lost the cable signal

ok you hook up dvd to what input... you hooked up sat on what =input.. do you have old vcr around.. try hooking cable to vcr and in a sense use its tuner to tune with . this will tell you if your tv has a bad tuner... just hook the vcr to the same input the sat or dvd player is on

Interface error! Trun off the power

Okay...sounds like you have a lot of signal splitting as well as devices that may also weaken your signal. With digital cable, you won't see snow or what would be a dead give-away to a weak signal. Only analog signals do that. Digital signals give you crisp clear picture or they drop out.

Try taking the cable directly from the wall to the DVD-Recorder. If you are able to watch channels and manipulate the device, then you can start from there as the source is good and the recorder is good.

Try to place the DVD-Recorder after the first splitter and see if you still receive stable signal. You'll probably need to leave the unit in this part of your A/V chain.

It really sounds like you need a signal amplifier for all the splitting you've done, or to re-work your A/V stack into something more manageable. It is entirely possible that the built-in tuner of the new DVD-Recorder is not as sensitive as the old unit.
