Question about Dell Dimension 4500 PC Desktop
I am totally computer illerate. I know how to turn the thing on, use the internet, send mail, all that stuff. But, I can't figure out for the life of my whats happened to my Dell. My computers worked fine for a while but just a few weeks ago it's been really messed up. One day it was normal, and now... my internets been deleted, my files are gone, and it says I can't change anything because I'm not an "authorized user"? It's my computer! I'm seriously getting fed up with my computer and I'm about ready to chuck it. What happened and how can I fix it? It keeps telling me that I need to delete files but again it's telling me I'm not an authorized user. I'm not sure if this is considered a hardware problem, or a software- but I do know is that my University requires that you have their security system and password acces to your computer. Please, anyone that can help me... I'm desperate....
The problem i think lies with the virus infection. if you do have an antiviru update it first and let it do the boot scan as some virus act like a windows files after the computer is on. to pacify this pleae update your antivirus and let it do boot scan and let it delete all the infected files. 2. If you don't have an antivirus go this link www.avast.com and download the avast home edition and use. i usualy recommend the avast antivirus. 3. With this download spybot search and destroy and let it scan for any spyware also. try it out
