Question about HP Photosmart C6100 All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

I cannot see where the paper jam is

I got the largest piece of the paper removed from the back of the HP printer, although I am unable to even see the rest of the paper that is jammed. I was wondering if I can open the printer to find the piece of paper, or something else to fix it. Thank you, Marci

Paper jam

First, make sure that there is no piece of paper inside the printer. If not, try performing a clean in the sensor.

Hi, I've got an HP Photosmart D7160. It continually says "Paper Jam". Actually the error screen says something like "please remove paper jam and then press OK", but there is no paper...

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.get more help and information for hp printer support hope this helps you.

Thanks

Even after removing thye paper the status shows papaer jam. and unable to print

Try to use some compressed air, on the back inside of the printer, probably one of the sensors is jammed with dust or a tiny piece of paper.

I am unable to print because of a "paper jam". I have removed the paper from the printer, unhooked the printer from the computer, etc. and continue to get this message. Can you help?

A "paper jam" means that there is some paper or a piece of paper somewhere inside the printer, in the paper rollers. Turn the printer OFF. Open the printer and carefully look for a piece of paper or a paper page half-folded inside. SLOWLY pull the paper out. Replace the cover and turn on again.

HP 4L printer indicates no paper when the tray has

When you removed the paper jam, was the paper torn? If so, did you ensure that you found all the pieces. (Put the piece of paper back together like a puzzle to verify). There could be a piece of paper stuck in the printer that is causing the paper sensor to fail.
The other possibility is that when you removed the paper jam, something became dislodged in the printer. Forcefully removing paper from the printer can cause this.

At power on I get a 13.20.00 jam inside rear door. Nothing is found in the rear door area. I can't find any flag tied up or a sensor to clean.

Hi,

This error can be misleading at times. Although it says to check the rear, if you haven't already, remove the toner cartridge and check inside. Also, when you look inside you should see a green lever on the right side. Lift that and check to see if there is paper stuck down there. Another place you can look is in the paper tray area. Remove the paper tray and check to see if there is a piece caught on the way up. Keep in mind when removing a jam make sure you get a whole piece of paper, any missing pieces will cause problems later.

If both areas appear to be clear, think back to if you have a paper jam and got the paper out. Did the paper tear? A small piece could be stuck on a sensor within the printer. If you find paper and everything is good to go, check the pick up rollers to ensure jamming won't happen again. They are located on the paper tray (grey/blue roller) they should like mini tires with grooves, NOT smooth. The other roller is located inside the printer.

Paper Jam

I have exactly the same printer, here's how to remove jammed paper.
1. Unplug printer from mains and your computer. 2. Turn Printer around 3. There is a darker-grey panel with a knob in the middle of it. Turn the knob anti-clockwise to release the panel 4. The jammed paper should loop around the roller. Gently pull on the loop slowly until it has released fully. 5. Put the panel back on the printer and turn knob anti-clockwise to lock it into place.
Hope this helps.

If you cant get paper out from inside after removing cartridge then there is No easy fix, and the roller at rear is called a fuser, these parts dont come out easy, machine will need all covers removed, plugs disconnected and brackets removed, gears pulled off and fuser removed, maybe replaced if there is a reason why it wrapped around roller
