The touch screen stops working when I open the lid past an angle of around 70 degrees

If this is a new laptop barely months old please contact the place you bought it. You will have a warranty on it, you will be able to get it replaced under warranty. It would be pointless anyone trying to help you fix it as it may void your warranty

When I try to solve a sine, cosine, or tangent problem, it comes out differently than the real answer. Other keys work fine though... ex: sin(37) Real: .6018 Mine:-.6435 How do I fix this?

When you use trigonometric functions you should always make certain that the angle unit the calculator is configured for is the intended one.
When the unit is set to degree sin(37)=0.6018
When the angle unit is set to radian, sin(37 rad)=-0.6435

Change the angle unit to degree.
  1. Press the MODE button
  2. Scroll to reach the Angle line.
  3. Use right arrow to highlight deg and press ENTER to validate.

Hi I am after sharpening my MS290 Stihl Chainsaw blade, but don't know what angle the sharpener should be set at. Kind regards Peter Hopkisnson

Hi, there are different angles for different chain types but 30 degrees across and 10 degrees down are good general purpose angles. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

When i try to insert the disk it doesnt work. at which angle do i have to pup it in

Hi there!
Regardless of what game console you are using that has a disc tray, you don't have to angle the disc to put it in. If it's upright, you have to insert the disc 90 degrees. If it's a UMD disc for PSP consoles, you have to angle it 45 degrees before you close the cover.
You should not any issues in inserting the disc, unless your disc is damaged/files are corrupted or it's really not working. Try a different disc for your console. If it works, then your disc could be the problem.
Hope that helps!

I have the letters DEG with an up arrow in the right top of calculator screen that I cannot get rid of. It will not allow me to compute square roots or anything. How do I get rid of these...

Hello,
Sorry, I do not know what problem your calculator has, but it certainly is not related to the presence of the DEG indicator in the top (user inaccessible) part of the screen. This is an indicator (or a reminder) that the angle unit was set to Degrees. If you change the angle unit to RADian, the DEG indicator will be replaced by another that displays RAD. Whenever the calculator is turned back on again, the angle unit is reset to degrees. What can one do? Better accept it, tolerate it, or ignore it.
So the gist of the story is that you cannot get rid of the indicators.

This answer is certainly not what you wanted to hear, but I am only the messenger, albeit one who volunteered to help a fellow human.

Greetings.

DeWalt d51822 framing nailer, shoots 2 nails at once 1 in 5 times

I worked at at tool rental center while attending college and learned from the old tool masters about nails and nailers. Rental stores have many different brands of nailers to rent and customers would bring their own nails of all brands. You will notice on the case/box that your nails will /should work on many other brands however the degree or angle of the nails is not always exacly as stated on the box. You should check with protractor the exact angle of your nails and also check the exact angle of the nailer. Use straight edge on travel path of the piston and another on guide rails to check angle of the gun. You will discover that all is not as stated as in a perfect world. If the angle is off slightly, the head of the second nail will get into the path of the driver. This happens mostly with clip head because the nail heads are so close together. The full round head is spaced further apart with less jamming. If angle is off slightly, take a look at other brands of nails with protractor in hand, the angle will be different slightly or choose a slightly thicker nail. Look for the nails to fit with bottom of nail hitting the barrel first. This will move the head of the nail slightly away from the center line. Finally do not release pusher with force as this will jamb nails closer together. Good Luck!?

Microphone gives a really boomy distorted sounds on certain chords with an acoustic guitar

Hi Nic

Thats exactly how you do it:) Some times it doesnt matter what you do, you will get strange resonances. Careful EQ is the best way to tone it down. Some guitars will present boominess on certain notes, thats just the way they are. Acoustics rely on this boominess to some degree. Good luck and happy recording. :) Happy to talk more to you about it.

IT DOES NOT WORK ECM-MS907 Professional...

Just in case you have having the same problem as me....

The reason why my microphone was giving mixed results was because I was using the wrong setting. The microphone slider says "90 degrees" and "120 degrees." I assumed that these angles refered to the area that the microphone picked up. So for a single narrow sound source, like my voice, the narrower, 90 degrees setting seemed appropriate.

Now that I have looked at the manual I see it is the reverse (weird but true. Perhaps the angles refer to the angles that the microphone ignores completely under each setting?).

I have been recording my voice. I noticed that sometimes the sound was good and other times the sound level was too low. I think that the reason is because sometimes I inadvertantly set the microphone to the 120 degree setting, which picks up my voice well, while at other times I set the mic to the 90 degree setting which attempts to pick up sound from a wider area, giving the central source less prominence.Setting the microphone to the 120 degree setting cured my problem. I hope it cures your problem too.

The manual is here:

Go to start then control pannel then sounds and audio devices. Then in in the volume tab select advanced in the device volume section. When the mixer comes up go to options then properties select the recording option a recording mixer will come up make sure to check the microphone box. Raise the level in the ixer and you should be golden. If you want to hear the mic select playback mixer and raise the mic level. Hope this helps. : ]
