Press and hold the center button while holding down the menu button. This will reboot your Ipod. Check your IPod cable to see if its shorted. If might have transferred a song and crash in the middle of the transfer.

How can I use JVC AVX810 with Iphone? Currently IPOD works fine with the USB cable but IPHONE is not recognised. Maybe there is an adaptor that can solve it?

JVC KS-PD100 iPod Interface Adapter (257KSPD100, sold separately). This optional iPod Interface Adapter supports audio playback for the following iPod models - iPod click-wheel (3rd gen), iPod photo (4th gen), iPod mini (1st/2nd gen), iPod nano (1st/2nd/3rd/4th gen), iPod video (5th gen), and iPod classic (80/120/160GB). The KS-PD100 is not compatible with the iPod touch (1st/2nd/3rd gen), iPod nano (5th gen), or iPhone (2G/3G/3GS). This iPod interface will also not charge the iPod nano (4th generation). *Apple firmware updates may change functionality results.

What to do with ipod batteries that die...

You can either purchase a replacement battery online and try the replacement yourself or send it into Milliamp for a 2nd gen iPod nano battery replacement. Their batteries are warranted for 10 years.

If you try to replace the battery yourself, be careful, as 2nd gen nanos are easy to break if you don't know what you're doing, and the battery has to be soldered to the logic board.

Our sound dock does not charge our ipod touch 2nd gen. Bose manual says it does charge. The sound dock is not series 2. Are they not compatible? Thanks, Mark

The original SoundDock will not charge the iPod touch 2nd gen, or the iPhone 3G, or the new nano either. This is because Apple changed the way their new iPod products charge. (via USB only now)
There is 1 solution- Call Bose tech support. They can replace the 30 pin metal connector for a new one that will charge this. If this is not under warranty, it will cost $99, but it's worth it. New 1 year warranty, and compatibility with all iPods (except much older- non-clickwheel iPods)

My ipod nano wont connect to my computer or turn on at all i have the same issue. My ipod nano 2nd Gen won't connect to the computer or charge in any USB port on my computer or my husband's laptop.

there is a high probability that you need a new battery installed in your ipod. However, the ipods don't charge all that well from the usb port. If you have an a/c charger, use it or get one. you can find um cheap like 10 dollars at a drug store.
the battery isn't outrageous in price but that ipod does require the battery to be soldered in.
do a search in the the fixya business guide and you will find me and many others. find someone near you and get your battery done.

You will need to replace the screen. This is a relatively cheap fix.

Info

I have received a IPod Nano 2 GB Silver as a gift. How do I find if it is a 1st Gen or 2nd Gen. Model number is A1199 and Part Number is MA477ZT/A. The pack looks like similar to one in Apple Store website (http://a248.e.akamai.net/7/248/8352/...quirements.jpg).

Any one has picture of the 1st Gen Nano package.Look here. Yours will be second gen - first gen only came in black or white.

Compatability with 4th gen nano

I have had exactly the same problem having bought a JBL Radial Micro for my partner for Xmas for use with the Ipod Nano, i contacted JBL via their website and was advised to contact Harmen on 01707278100. I was advised that the new ipod nano (chromatic) would not charge on the JBL radial micro. They stated that this was due to Apple changing the charging pin in the new nano. I have since bought a JBL Stage III. I contacted Harmen before buying this and was advised that the Stage II would not work. Hope that this is of use.
