I drenched the unit. Took it apart to allow it to dry. When I put it back together it wouldn't work. Took it apart again and plugged it in while apart (bottom of unit oriented correctly, top part of unit upside down). It worked, but when I turned the top back rightside up, it clicked and quit working.
Is there an orientation switch that's getting tripped? What else might be clicking and shutting it off?

does extractor fan have to be wired to a light switch to work, I live in a flat and the outside bathroom wall is nowhere near the light switch and I do not want to have to channel all the way along the wall.
