You're right of course, there is no driver for this particular device provided by Canon http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0000551.asp. They only support Windows 98 thru 2000.
However, it APPEARS you may have the good fortune there was enough demand in the wild for someone to have developed or tweaked one. Give it a try: http://driverzone.com/device.php?id=71685.

I just followed my previously provided link, and now see that it is in fact a driver provided by Canon.
However, do NOT give up until you at least try the driver for XP. Drivers can often be very accomodating for configurations for which they were not designed. The fact that DriverZone.com's summary includes Vista capability typically indicates one or more downloader/users have reported success.
