USB Port and Creative MP3 player - wont play

I have a Wharfedale iPod micro system IP76 and I can't play my Creative MP3 player through the USB port. When I plug it in via the USB port it initially says reading then comes up with No Dev. Is this because it isn't an iPOD?

Dragonclu your fix is very good if this was a computer unfortunately you did not read the problem correctly this is about a standalone stereo system NOT a computer or a computer program. Your problem maybe that your Creative MP3 player is registering as a portable media player which the stereo system does not support chech if theres an option in your MP3 Player to use USB Mass Storage which the stereo system will read and playback

Hope This Helps

The usb on your computer may very well have gone out trying if u can to switch to a different usb port and if that does work take the computer itself to best buy or circut city or a near by computer repair shop along with your mp3 player and see if they can switch out your usb port with a working one and then try it other wise it may just be that the mp3 player is not compatible with the windows program u are running on your computer if thats the case you just need to update your computer

Creative zen micro won't read my music

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs tomp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and thencopy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable tothe MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.Click on this link for instruction on converting musicfiles to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

What mp3 player will work in the usb port on the kenwood kvt-514?

You can put a USB thumb drive in this port, and it will play mp3 files from that drive.
You can also buy an iPod interface that will let you plug in an iPod or iPhone to the USB port.

MY Zen WONT TURN ON. It also wont charge.

Connect the player to a USB port on the back of a desktop PC.. Check the display for the charging icon . As the display times out after a few seconds, press any button on the player to reactivate the display. If the battery is fully depleted, the charging icon may not be displayed. Cup the player in your hands to check that the blue power LED behind the Play/Pause and Options buttons is blinking on and off repeatedly. This indicates that the player is successfully charging. After 1 hour of charging, power on the unit to activate the display. The charging icon should be displayed. Allow the player to charge for at least 6 hours. During this time, if charging from a USB port, please ensure your PC does not enter a power conservation mode (Standby, Sleep, or Hibernate) as this will interrupt charging. If the player does not indicate a charge, or will not power on after at least 6 hours of charging, please contact Customer Support.
You might try updating your ZEN V or ZEN V Plus firmware to take advantage of new features and functionality.

My USB port, no longer recognizes the Creative M, yet it charges it the same way?

If you can't connect through USB anymore (also no reaction on you computer and no sign of connecting on the screen of the player),
you are going to need a new logic board. I know only one place that repairs creative zen players and sells the parts besides ebay obviously. If you just want to get the music out you can stick the hard drive on an iPod video logic board (they are compatible) and use a utilty like sharepod to extract the music.

My Creative Zen 4GB MP3 Player is just not turning On

I had the exact same issue and this is how i fixed it.
go to the zen website and download the latest drivers.

  1. Turn off your player.
  2. Disconnect your player from your computer.
  3. Press and hold the Play/Pause button. Continue to hold the button while you perform steps 4 and 5. If you accidentally release the button, start the procedure again.
  4. Gently push a straightened paper clip into the Reset hole.
  5. Slide the On/Off switch towards the USB port and hold until the display lights up. The Recovery Mode screen appears with four options: Clean Up, Format All, Reload Firmware, and Reboot.
  6. Select Reload Firmware, followed by Yes.
  7. Connect your player to your computer.
  8. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the instructions on the screen.
