Motorola Q Sounds Settings

I have adjusted and set all of the profile options i want and have selected a sound as my ringer. BUT, when the phone rings, the sound i hear is the original sound i chose when i first got the phone but then when i look under sounds at what it is set to...it says vibrate...but it is not vibrating. it also returns to saying vibrate but ringing a different ring than i selected if i make a call. Basically, no matter what i do, the screen shows that the sound is set to vibrate (which i never selected) but it rings a tone that i also never selected. it is extrememly wierd
