Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer

All in one printer

I have an HP OfficeJet 6110xi all in one printer/copier/fax/scanner and I am having problems with the "copy" function, which just showed up. I try to copy something and it says, "paper too narrow. Load wider paper". This just showed up and when you try to do a "test" page or a copy, the printer head goes from one side of the paper and shines down a bright blue light and then it goes to the other side and shines down a bright blue light (does it a couple of times on each side) and then it just sends the paper through with the message, "paper too narrow. Load wider paper." Any hints on this? Is it the printer head, an adjustment or a setting? I set all the setting back to the factory default. I used this for copying two days ago and it worked great. My girlfriend tried to copy something last night and it says that saying now. I can still print with it with no problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you would prefer to send an e-mail to me, you can e-mail me at progressive_homeowner . Thanks!

Re: all in one printer

I had the same problem some time ago. Unplug the USB from the printer for 10 seconds and plug it back in. HP tech support gave me this fix and it worked.

Re: all in one printer

This seems to be a paper registration problem for the copy function only that is an HP thing Good old HP so innovative and so secretive none of us know whats going on most of the time. Two things to try. Take the stack of paper out of the feed tray and riffle so that it is slightly 'untidy' switch off the device , load the paper, switch on- see what happens. Next look at the software disk- there is usually a fully comprehensive reference manual on there [more than in the book]- check that out then come back.

Good morning,am trying to fix a hp officejet pro l7780.It can't scan, copy or send fax.Could someone assist me please?

Does the fax/scanner light come on at all? If not, then that's the problem, because that's the only part that likely needs to warm up.

My HP6110xi All-In-One doesn't want to scan

First, scans and copies don't really use the computer. Can you print a document from your printer. If not, then your problem is within the computer.

If it does print then....

Try using the scan feature within the HP solution center. It works on mine but the scan button on the printer does. Also some art programs have and "ACQUIRE" feature under file to scan with. (Sometimes called TWAIN.)

Hope this helps, so you can start scanning.

good luck

Fax Error 386, HP 6110xi Fax failed Is there a solution?

Too much noise on the phone line: e.g. bad connection, unshielded phone cable next to a electrical machine (motor!), temporary problems in phone service providers network.
Fax is essential data transmission by beeping noises. If crackling on the line or other disturbances degrade signal quality too much, the data cannot transmitted properly anymore.

HP Officejet 6210 will not copy, scan or fax. It will print documents from the computer. Any attempt to do the other 3 functions results in it being "busy" and cannot cancel, have to power it off.

Well if it is printing, the drivers are working fine. The copying, faxing and scanning mechanism use the same scanner to copy the image. It seems to be a problem with the scanner mechanism on the printer.Try a reset using the # and 6 buttons while plugging in the power cord.If it works well and good.If you want any further support, an online technician from techbuddies can help you for free. For this log on to

OfficeJet 7310 FAX issue

Did anything happen prior to the issue? It almost sounds as if the DC controller (main board) has gone bad. What happens if you try to make a copy on it?
