You have to check the power supply, take your tv to w/shop
ask them to check the following
switch, semi conductors like diodes , transistors, and zener diodes. also dont forget to test fusible resistors. on the power supply

When I select the power button (either using a remote or on the unit) the power indicator light flashes and you hear it cycling on but then a few seconds later you hear it cycle again and it shuts off, never actually coming on.
This is a Toshiba 44NHM84.
