when you put it in reverse, first thing you feel a spring.after tthat you lift,
a security plate, this plate prevent you from going reverse into 1 gear.
cause the axel turn a little further when you allreddy has stop the car.
this takes two sec.thats why when putting it in reverse after you feel the spring you wait two seconds, then puch al the way in reverse.
may have to replace the transmission shift solenoids.
Some google searching will give you the best idea on what you are looking at.
Those parts are always cheaper on ebay. (thats where I get mine)
I believe your clutch is not disengaging fully. When this happens it may be hard to get into first gear but subsequet shifts are easier due to the fact the vehicle is moving. You probably have a hydraulic clutch system which is low on fluid or may have air in the system. Before shifting into first gear or reverse try pumping the clutch pedal 5 or 6 times then shifting, if it goes into gear easier after this then you probably have air in the system, it can be bled similar to bleeding brakes. If this doesnt work you might be low on fluid, or have a bad master or slave cylinder.
does your car vibrate when shifting gears ??
your problem could be either worn gears on the transmission or the transmission mounts.
if the car vibrates when shifting then most likely are your transmission mounts, when they get worn the transmission will move a little out of place and you will have problems shifting.
if it doesn't vibrate probably are your gears and transmission will have to be repaired.
