Good morning. Yesterday my uncle gave me a Acer AcerScan 620S Flatbed Scanner, but the problem is that i have done all that i can do... I have the CDs of the original software and i have installed all...

suggest looking in file manager at cd directories and see if any are labelled as driver - windows xp see if any have an INI file type
Try also adding a device in control panel - devices.
Then when it comes to driver part - select have disk and then point the have disk to the cd rom drive and you may have topoint it to the directory as well. It should find a (whatever file name).INI . type file .

Usb device not recognized, sometimes the device works sometimes it doesn't.

there is 2 possibility, you could be either have a malfunction usb device or when you plug-in the device to a faulty (or inactive / not supporting usb 2.0 or greater) usb port, the message appear.

hopefully this helps. ;)

I have a older puter with vistas OS and my scanner is not recognized when i connect it?

Hi dtvalascho
Your device will run under XP but no more under Vista or Windows XP . HP doesn't support this unit anymore .
Installing a Virtual version of XP on your system or genuine version on a secundary are the only options .
Best regards ,

Hi My computer doesn't have IIS (Windows XP).Is there anyway i can add? thank you

You don't need it. It an internet server app and XP Home doesn't have anything to do with it. It runs on Windows Server software.

No audio from PC

Hi,

You just need to download the appropriate audio driver for your motherboard. Go to the Device Manager and install all missing drivers for "Unknown Devices". Either connect to the internet or use the driver disc which came with the motherboard of the computer.

For those who doesn't know how to access Device Manager, please follow the steps below.

For Windows XP:
Start -> Run -> Type devmgmt.msc (in the box) -> Right click Unknown device -> Properties -> Driver tab -> Update driver

For Windows Vista and Windows 7
Start -> Type devmgmt.msc (in the start search box) -> Right click Unknown device -> Properties -> Driver tab -> Update driver

Hope this helps.

Device is not recognized by windows 7

Hi there,

Please ensure that the device you are plugging in the computer is compatible with windows 7.

Some hardwares doesn't require the driver to be installed because they are already on the driverstore of Win7 or an automatic update is needed so the driver can be downloaded from microsoft.

You can head to the device manufacturers website and check if a driver for Windows 7 is needed or available so that you can use it with the Operating System.

Hope this helps!

CD driver do not read any file

Hi there,

Does it recognize any cd you put in the drive or is it only one cd it doesn't recognize?

Please check if the cd drive is recognized by your computer:

Click Start go to My Computer (XP) / Computer (Vista/Win 7)
and check if you can see the drive. (if it's not there you may have to reseat the drive to make sure that the cables connecting it to motherboard are tight)

check the status in the Device Manager:

On your Keyboard press and hold the Windows Key then press the letter R
once the Run box comes up type in devmgmt.msc and the device manager should appear.

On the device manager look for the cd / dvd drive see wether it has an exclamation point a red x mark or a down arrow or it looks normal.

if it has a yellow exclamation point press and hold the windows logo then the letter R again and type regedit:

On regedit go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} and the delete the upper and lower filters. Close Regedit and restart the computer.

if it has a red x mark right click on the cd drive in the drive in the device manager and the choose uninstall and restart the computer.

If it has a down arrow right click on the drive and click Enable.

If the above steps doesn't work or if it doesn't recognize all types of media you put in it, that might mean that your cd drive is busted and it needs to be replaced.

Hope you find this helpful!

you will need to install the drivers for your drive.
xp doesn;t recognize 2.0 usb unless you install drivers and have a usb 2.0 port
but install the drivers and you should get it to recognize

you can go to control panel, system and device manager.
look for a usb device that is not working and right click install drivers or update drivers.
See if it comes up.
Once it does you will see it in the device manager under disk drives

USB port problems

Try going into the BIOS and see if the USB Ports are enabled. I don't know what type of system you have. When you turn on the pc it will prompt 'F1 to enter setup' or it might be F10. Do you have a USB mouse or keyboard? Try those in different ports.
