"stuck" on Solarize

All of a sudden my camera is "solarizing" all the pictures and it's not on the solarize option. HELP!!! (I just dropped it off at the repair shop for an estimate, but I'm hoping someone can give me insight into what may have happened! - I don't want it to happen again)

We are now on our 3rd 5.0 bushnell night sentry camera and the night pictures are black. With the second camera, we might get the first picture where the flash goes off, but the subsequent ones are black....

OK, I think that this is a problem with the flash not working correctly, and you are within the warranty period, I'm hoping, so that you can get it replaced.

Power shouldn't be an issue since you have a solar panel.

Model 11-9305 trail cam only works one day after setup. takes good pics only for one event

The problem with the Bushnell Trail Sentry 11-9305 is that it is a power hog...I got this camera for Christmas 2009 and it had 2500 milliamp hour batteries with it and no solar panel...I have lots of coons and rabbits coming to the feeder and had up to 50 pics/night...The batteries would only last for three days or so...Since then I have ordered 10,000
milliamp/hr batteries and the appropriate solar panel that fits it...
When the batteries get low, the camera shuts off....
So, the problem may be that you had some bad batteries to start with..(Only takes one)
The first thing I would do is put heavy duty alkaline batteries in it...
(You'll have to reset the day and time)
If the alkaline batteries work for several days then do what I did...Get the solar panel that is made for it and HEAVY duty NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) rechargable batteries...(9000 or 10,000 milliampere hours)
You can buy these on E-Bay for about $26.00 for 4 batteries with free shipping...
Hope this helps !!!

How to take still photographs of solar eclipse

DO NOT look directly at a solar eclipse... You will do permanent damage to your eyes. If your camera has a "live view" LCD screen (Where you can look at the LCD while composing the image), use it to view the eclipse. DO NOT look at the eclipse through an SLR lens or other OPTICAL viewfinder unless you have the proper equipment in place to protect your eyes. You will typically want to use your full optical zoom on the camera to make the image and set the ISO setting to its' LOWEST possible setting. You will have TONS of light, so a low setting will reduce noise, giving you a much higher quality image. If you have exposure compensation on your camera, set it to underexpose by at least two full stops. Since the scene is so bright, it will fool a light meter, thus the need for this compensation. Also remember to use a tripod as well. When you use telephoto lenses, it magnifies shake introduced when you hand-hold a camera. If you're using an SLR camera, you will need a filter to view the eclipse through... here is a site that will give you GREAT detail on safely viewing a solar eclipse:

If you want to purchase one for your lens, go to any astronomy equipment sales site or telescope manufacturer. Hope this helps and good luck with the eclipse!

Lcd screen

That is an effect that can be had by internal software in the camera, like my Sony. Just get in there and turn off "negative" Youll probably see Sepia, solarize, B/W and negative as other choices.
