Question about Hitachi 51G500 51" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
Hi, I have a 4.5 year old 51g500 and just recently when I power it on the color seems to be off for the first 60 seconds and then corrects itself. There is no ghosting or convergence problems that I can see, just a lack of color (especially noticed on the grey side bars) and then voila its ok again. It seems to be more purplish (if i can remember correctly) at first but green is apparent in the regular picture until it self corrects. Should I be concerned or have someone look at it, or is this normal after so many hours of use? Oh and just prior to noticing this happen, I enabled the 'power on when video 2 is detected' feature but when i disable it now the problem still happens.
You have three color tubes in this set and they are RED< BLUE, Green, I would check 200v line going to CRT's. You may just have a loose connection. you can move around slightly and see if you see a change. Be carefull thou, not to damage anything else. Check to see if CRT boards are on neck of tube(press upward slightly) Hope this helps
