Question about DeLonghi EC140 Espresso Machine

Delonghi EC 140 Espresso Machine

New out of box, first time trying to use Turned on, primed for appropriate amount of time to allow to heat, etc., water is just not flowing to espresso filter. It flows to the steamer. I am pretty sure a hose is just not connected correctly, or is jammed, however I don't know how to get inside the machine to check. When using the steam dispenser, everything works fine -- water is sucked from reservior, and sent to steam dispenser. However, when attempting to actually make espresso, machine runs but no water is pulled from reservoir or run into espresso filter.

Delonghi EC 155 general help

You don't have to wait 15 mins. just a few minutes, then run some hot water to warm up the portafilter and dry it up, fill it up with coffee and when you get the gree light again, make your espresso . You will have to have a good fine coffee and make sure to pack the coffee really good and don't leave any around the edges , so could make a good seal. If you have steam coming out of the machine , is maybe to hot and is ready to brew . Cool down the machine after use, run water through it and let the steam out of the nozzle.

New unit just won't work - keeps saying to insert brewer unit

These machines seem to respond to what their CS dept call "priming the pump." Turn on machine and after it has warmed up, turn the hot water valve or about 30-45 seconds. Shut it off and after a pause 30 seconds, repeat this process 2 additional times. Do the same 3 cycles in the steam mode. ( hit the steam button for frothing) Check openings  where coffee comes out with a small wire, ect., to make sure they are clear. It should work.

the filter has a little indent that must be placed correctly, if you put the filter in the holder and then rotate the filter you will feel it click into place when it is in the right position ( there is a gap for the indent at the front of the holder)
