i cant rewrite to a 16x dvd is there any upgrade i need i have had this for a few yeears?

could you provide more info? the model number of the drive for exmaple. are you sure your using rewriteable DVD's? sorry to point out the obvious but id kick myself if i didnt check. Also you can goto the manufactuers website and if there is a firmware upgrade for your model of DVD writer.
