You will find the manual here. The radio is part of the 280 series radios, so there is a general manual on all in that series.

No. Your Talkabout radio operates on UHF and your wife's walkie talkie is a VHF radio operating on exclusive business frequencies.

Hello Ty,

Tis a problem you have there, however I would advise you take one of your radios to radioshack or similar store, and the folk there should be able to assist in finding the apropriate chargers for you.

I hope this helps you in your quest.

When I place the walkie talkie in the charger base, the light indicator does not come on. I've put new batteries in the walkie talkies. Also, on another walkie talkie, it constantly shuts off when I...

Generally when a radio shuts off when you press the PTT button it is a sign of a bad or poorly charged battery. It takes more energy to transmit than to receive. The fact you have a charge which the light does not come on indicates you have a bad charger or bad connection between the radio and/or battery and the charger. Clean your battery contacts (on both radio and charger) with a pencil eraser and see if it clears up the problem. If not, you have either a battery or charger problem.

Best regards.

Is kenwood walkie talkie and motorola walkie talkie on the same frequence

If you are talking about FRS radios, the answer would be yes. If you are talking about business radios, it depends on how they were programmed. Business radios have many frequencies available.

Talking

See if the one radio that doesn't hear the other has a PL tone programmed into it. If both radios are not programmed to the same PL tone, then one will not hear the other. Consult your owner's manual on how to do this.

T5900 Walkie Talkie Issue

Hello Bo Duke,

If one radio won't walk to the other my guess if that you have the Privacy Code function set up incorrectly.

The privacy code function mutes the radio unless it receives a signal from another radio transmitting the same privacy code. If Privacy Codes are turned on for Radio A but not turned on for Radio B then you will be able to transmit from Radio A to Radio B but not from Radio B to Radio A. If Privacy Codes are turned on for both radios but each unit is set to a different code then neither radio will be able to talk to the other.

Make sure that the radios are both set to the same privacy code or that the privacy code function is turned off on both radios. You can find more information on how this function is set in the radio's Owner's Manual.

Hope this helps!

Walky talky

A walkie talky as we called them, back when we were younger - and hell we probably still do in some respects, hence the fact my friend still refers to her cordless phone as a "walkie talky" and the principals haven't changed that much.

The common old Walkie Talky or CB radio use what we call a half duplex, that means only one person can talk at a time. We are talking and listening on the same channel.

Cell phones are full duplex, meaning two way conversation, and this is simply listening on one channel whilst talking on another, so the basic principal is basically the same, just a little more sophisticated.

Walkie-talkie typically has one channel
CB radio has 40 channels.
Cell phone
can communicate on 1,664 channels or more!

I have included a link to a circuit diagram.
