Question about Kenmore 24 in. 16032 Built-in Dishwasher

Permanent (?) stains on inside of door

Our Kenmore 16032 built-in dishwasher has large, bright orange stains on the white plastic of the inside door panel. They seem to fade and then get really bright again. This is our fourth dishwasher and I have never seen any stains appear in any of our previous three dishwashers. These stains will not scrub off, and they look disgusting. Kenmore says it's due to the dye in the foods we eat, but our dishes are fairly clean before we wash them anyway. Kenmore also says it's a common occurence, but if that's so, why have we never seen these hideous stains inside any of our previous dishwashers? We eat exactly the same foods that we have been eating for the past thirty years. These stains are so gross. What is really causing them? Can't they find a plastic that won't absorb colors from the food being that's being washed away? Has anyone found anything to remove these stains or to prevent them althogether?

I have same problem--not caused by food as I don't each orange or red food--and I rinse dishes before washing. Have even run the diswasher empty and it still happens. Seems to be coming from the sprayer arm under the top rack. It is not only ugly, but I wonder if I am eating whatever it is because it is on my supposedly clean dishes. My dishwasher is a Whirlpool which I inherited when I bought this place.

Have you tried a treatment (not sure of the name) that you wash plastic dishes with that takes the orange stains out? It can be found at Walmart for under $10. I don't know of anything that can prevent this problem but I don't see why a product that takes it out of plastic dishes can't take it off the plastic of the dishwasher. Hope it helps!

After dry heating cycle the door has moisture in it why? moisture is inside the door where you put dishwashing liquid.

You may need to check the mating seams where the door is put together, or the inner shell for cracks. If spilt you may have to replace The door.

Whining noise with Kenmore 16032 dishwasher

I had a similar issue, I removed the lower spray arm (had to hold center plastic tab with pliers and then unscrewed and lifted up the arm). Then I removed the cover with the screen filter(4 screws) and then removed the top half of the stainless chopper housing (1 screw). Found that things like cherry pits, elastic bands, bread plastic ties had blocked the water inlet to the chopper and the area around the chopper blade. Cleaned it all up, reassembled and machine works great! Mine was so blocked that I was hardly getting any water pressure to the upper rack.
