Acer Aspire One Crystal Eye Webcam..no Video capability?

Was wondering if this built in webcam only has picture-taking capabilities.. I am able to take a picture, but there is no option of recording a video. I called Acer support, but they were of no help. They referred me to the user guide which doesn't cover anything except showing you a diagram of where the webcam is located.. VERY helpful :) I was hoping to use this as a webcam for instant message chatting as well as downloading vids to youtube, or to save on my computer.. any help would be greatly appreciated.
