Ok you need to insert the disk, then shutdown the laptop then turn it back on, the first screen that shows up should say the brand name and have some words at the bottom of the screen saying press f12 for setup and so on, as soon as this screen appears press the pause button on the keyboard so the screen freezes, now read the options at the bottom and select which ever button opens the boot menu it will be one of the f something buttons, this will open the boot options menu select boot from cd rom drive and that shud start up the recovery program that will guide you step by step. hope that helps

My acer aspire one d257-1417 trys 2 setup service but cant sumthing happen 2 microsoftwindows how can i recover without a cd

I'm not sure what you are referring to ?
If you do a factory restore and its a hardware issue the problem will still remain

You can reset the Acer Aspire One to factory settings just using your keyboard. Only restore your netbook to factory settings if you cannot fix the problem any other way.

Save any files or folders on your Acer Aspire One with flash drives. Drag and drop files onto the icon of your flash drive. Go to "Start" > "Restart" to reboot your netbook. Hold down "Alt" and "F10" when you see the Acer logo on the screen. The recovery menu will load. Hit "Enter" and then "Next" to see your recovery options. Choose "Factory Restore" to set your netbook back to factory settings. Follow the instructions on the screen. Choose your time zone and language when the customization menu appears. Reboot the netbook when you are prompted. Restore your saved files from the flash drive.

I need to restore my netbook to factory settings but I don't have a flash drive or disk drive

Hi,

With Acer One's there is usually a hidden partition that will allow you to recover the operating system to factory defaults without the use of a flashdrive or a CD/DVD drive.

To recover the operating system please follow the below instructions carefully.

Consider what data you still need from your Acer Aspire One's hard drive. Save the files to an external USB device.

Restart the Acer Aspire One's operating system. Wait for the Acer logo to appear on the LCD screen.

Press the "Alt" and "F10" keys at the same time to bring up the recovery menu. Press "Enter."

Click "Next." Follow the prompts that appear on the screen to restore the operating system back to factory settings.

Use the drop-down boxes to select the time zone and language information for your Acer Aspire One. Restart the netbook when you are prompted to finish restoring the computer.

That should be it. All you have to do from there is restore any files you backed up before the recovery.

If there is anything else please post back.

Regards.

I recently purchased an aspire one netbook 531

I suspect the e recovery is designed to be used on a normal CD/DVD and not on the USB version As you have very recently purchased the device, I would contact the ACER support line - heres a link to the global phone numbers http://support.acer-euro.com/phone.html Then if there is a problem with the machine you can get an RMA number and take it back to the shop where you purchased and they should exchange as its so new - or return to ACER for repair
