Most likely a bad sensor. If you had 0 pressure you would know by vehicle reaction. Get an oil pressure gauge and remove sensor and install gauge. What is actual pressure? Bad sensor? Always a good idea to do internal clean, cheapest is SEAFOAM

Have a 2004 f150 left town took exit heard knocking oil pressure dropped to 0 then up back down is it oil pressure sending unit or pump or maybe o ring from pump to tube
Pull the sump and check the main bearings for spinning in cap. The knock indicates a bearing and the fluctuating pressure indicates a oil hole being opened and closed as the bearing shell moves over the oil hole in the crank.

oil pump gears inside the lower engine, or electrical. 1st make sure its full on oil, then sheck it with another pressure guage to confirm its not actuall pressure.

My oil gage drops to 0 and then back up to 40 when i am on a incline after the car has come to a complete stop or when i am making a turn when it drops to 0 the checks gages light come on and then right...
first thing, have you check the oil level, maybe its low?
if the oil level is ok, when was the last time the oil was changed. could be the oil is too old. last thing, possible low oil pressure due to an internal engine problem. (bearing wear)

Come to stop 99 Ram oil pressure drops to 0 check gauges light.
Change the oil! The 318Cu in V8 (5.2 liter) engine has a problem with sludge build up on the oil pump pickup tube screen. This engine requires oil changes at or before 3500 miles with a high detergent oil.

did you change the screen with the oil pump?
sometimes the screen will get clogged up and lose oil pressure.

the oil prresur sending unit is located on the left side of the engine block. it is near the filter and has a lead going to it one with a rubber boot or a weatherproof plug. please rate this thanks
