Problem for Sharp 27L-S100 27" TV

The set came in with an open R 702, a 1.2 ohm 7 watt fusible. Since
theoreticaly it would take about 6 amps to open this thing I looked for
anything around the power supply shorted and came up empty. The hot
seems good too. I temporarily installed a 2 amp fuse in place of the
resistor and attempted power on. I tried power on at low line too. The
set clicks once and that is then followed by another click about 5
seconds later. Power on can then not be attempted again until the AC
supply to the set is first momentarily inturrupted. Then the process
repeats. The fuse remained intact. This set uses an STR F6626 as a
regulator. I have not run into one of these as of yet and it is not
listed in my ECG book. So without a schematic I am really at a loss for
how to begin to isolate this problem. Is anyone familiar with this set,
or in the absence of that could someone please tell me anything about
the circuit or perhaps the STR? Thanks, Lenny Stein.

- Well it's not exactly the same but STR F6626 is involved. A neighbor gave it to me after he stuck an allen key in the power button hole, saw a flash and heard a zap. TV was dead. Turns out he'd shorted R715 which goes right to pin 4 on IC701(STR F6626). Now the IC shows a dead short from pin 4 to pin 5. R702 measures fine but i have the same relay issue you mentioned. A click with power and another click 5 sec. later. My girlfriend has the same TV (27L-S100) and in comparing her set had one click and then picture... I'm also looking for IC701 and it's not my NTE book either.
