I pressed some button on the remote... Now I have a black box on the center of the lower portion of the screen. It is not on the program listing channel nor on the commercials. I have pressed every button that I may have hit by mistake... nothing onlyb stays off for about 20n seconds and then returns. We do not have the manual.I pressed some button on the remote... Not a lot of info your giving us, but what it sounds like is the closed caption is on. Take the remote and there should be a button on the original remote unit, or the closed caption is controlled by the menu. Good Luck

I have a curtis Mathis model number cm19102 . I have no remote. It is stuck on no more than 14 channels. Then the word line comes up on blank screen. How can I get it to get more channels
No need for the tv manual.Just follow the basic hook up instructions in the booklet came in with the Converter box.Very easy use channel 3.Use the codes for Curtis-Mathis tv in the booklet for the remote.I hook this Exact model of tv is take 20 mins.
This is the closed captioning, even though it may not contain writing in the block. If you can access the main menu then you can try and turn the CC to off. Otherwise you are stuck with it.
