Its a bad contact at the ccu(main control board located at the top of the unit). just remove top panel by unscrewing the 3 screws in back of top panel. the ccu is located in back right in the center of unit. replace the ccu. what happens is the contacts from the ccu are welded inside, so they must of broken off by vibrations of time. replacing the door lock will not help. replace the ccu and you should be good to go.

This happens when I try to do repetitive loads of laundry. I unplug the machine and let it sit for 30 minutes, then it will start again. BUT I have ordered the part and will let you know how it goes.
THANK YOU for sharing your technical knowledge with a single woman who doesn't like the Sears repairman (he's creepy and hits on me). I was able to fix my dryer thanks to people sharing their knowledge on the internet!
My problem same as related post. After 7 tries, the door lock failure code comes on. Sometimes, I can bump the washer (I usually give it a sharp smack the right of the door lock with the flat of my hand) and it will begin working again. Sometimes it will run fine for months before showing the same problem again. Would a broken contact explain this behavior?
