Accidentally hit 09 when calling home and it turned answering system off. How turn it back on?

Assuming you have hung up your phone and aren't at home, dial your number and wait for the phone to ring 10 times. You should hear a series of beeps. Press 0 and then your security code. Then press 0 6 within 15 seconds of getting the system to respond to your code. The system returns to standby when there is a delay of more than 15 seconds between key presses.

This works for the Uniden D1680 but works for some other Uniden systems. I know 0 9 turns off the answering system for the D1680. Many Uniden DECT phone manuals are available here: http://www.uniden.com/scat/dectphones_mnl . They are listed in alphabetical and numerical order. Some of the other Uniden phone manuals are available by using the drop-down menu to select the Product Category on the right side of the page (near the top).

I hope this helps.

We don't know how to retrieve out messages from outside the house.

To play back messages remotely, first you'll need to have set up your two-digit security code (PIN). You can download a copy of the manual here which gives all the details. Once you've done that, here's how to use the system:

1) Call your telephone number and wait for the system to answer. If the answering system is off, it will answer after about 10 rings and sounds a series of beeps.
2) During the greeting message (or a series of beeps when the answering system is off), press 0 and enter your PIN code within 2 seconds. The answering system announces the current time and the number of messages stored in memory. You hear "To play incoming messages, press zero-two. For help, press one-zero." You will hear a beep.
3) Enter a command within 15 seconds. Each command thereafter must be entered within 2 seconds. These are the available commands:
  • 0 then 1 Repeat a Message*
  • 0 then 2 Playing incoming Messages
  • 0 then 3 Skipping a Message
  • 0 then 4 Deleting a Message
  • 0 then 5 Stop Operation
  • 0 then 6 Answering System On
  • 0 then 7 Memo Record/Stop**
  • 0 then 8 Greeting Message Record/Stop**
  • 0 then 9 Answer System Off
  • 1 then 0 Help
* For the Repeat a Message function, press 0 then 1 within about four seconds to repeat the previous message, or press 0 then 1 after about four seconds to repeat the current message.

**For the Memo Record and Greeting Message Record function, the first time you enter the corresponding command, it starts the Recording function. If you want to stop the recording, press 0 then 7, 8 or 5.

4) After the command has finished, you hear intermittent beeps indicating that the system is in the command waiting mode. You may enter another command at this time from the chart above.
5) Hang up when you're done.

How do i set the answering system on a uniden 1580-3 phone, mine is just background noise on the answering machine when someone calls in to leave a message

Here is the manual for your phone. You can download the manual and the instructions for setting up your answering machine are on page 43:

http://www.uniden.com/pdf/DECT1580-3om.pdf

Setting Up the Answering System
You can set up your answering system's features from the handset. Only one handset at a time can access the answering system menus.

Note: If you have multiple bases, select the base with answering system you want to access (see page 15).

Recording a Personal Greeting
Your answering system comes with a pre-recorded outgoing message or greeting that plays when you receive a call: "Hello, no one is available to take your call. Please leave a message after the tone." You can record your own personal outgoing greeting. Your recorded greeting must be between two seconds and thirty seconds long.

Press /mute. The system announces the number of new and old messages, then starts to play the messages unless it has no messages.

Press 5 to stop the announcements or message playback. You will hear intermittent beeps indicating that the system is in the command waiting mode.

Press 8 to start the recording. The system announces, "Record greeting." Begin recording after the announcement.

When you finish recording, press 8 again or press 5. You will hear a confirmation tone, and your recorded greeting plays back for you.

Selecting a Greeting

Once you have recorded a personal greeting, the phone automatically switches to your personal greeting. You can
also switch back and forth between the pre-recorded greeting and your own greeting at any time.

Press /mute. The system announces the number of new and old messages, then starts to play the messages unless it has no messages.

Press 5 to stop the announcements or message playback. You will hear intermittent beeps indicating that the system is in the command waiting mode.

Press 6. The system plays the current greeting.

I have a Uniden cordless answer machine,Can my meesages be retived?

You can operate your answering system from a remote location using any touch-tone telephone. Use this function to check for recorded messages, to play or delete messages, even to record a new greeting message.
  1. Call your telephone number.
  2. During the greeting message, press 0 and enter your PIN code. By default, the pin code is "80" without the quotes.
  3. The answering system announces the current time and the number of messages stored in memory. Then you hear "To play incoming messages, press zero two. For help, press one zero".
Available commands are:

  • 0 then 1 Repeat a Message
  • 0 then 2 Playing Incoming Messages
  • 0 then 3 Skipping a Message
  • 0 then 4 Deleting a Message
  • 0 then 5 Stop Operation
  • 0 then 6 Answering System On
  • 0 then 7 Memo Record/Stop*
  • 0 then 8 Greeting Message Record/Stop*
  • 0 then 9 Answer System Off
  • 1 then 0 Help Guidance

I cannot find a flash player to support my g1

Currently Adobe Flash player is NOT available for the G1. However I believe they have stated they will be releasing one, but with no time frame. Since the Android OS is open source, give it some time and it will be available.

Ironicly T-mobile is using flash for their page of the G1.
