Problem for Compaq Presario PC Notebook
Compaq presario v6000 laptop plugged in but not chargin

i have a compaq laptop that is plugged in but not charging.it actually says in a message {plugged in but not charging} i've checked the various battery options and there is not one to change that. is there an option or does that just mean it's not holding a charge anymore?

How old is the battery? Try booting up the laptop without the battery in. There should be no setting that would stop it from charging within the OS.

YOU NEED TO RECALIBRATE YOUR BATTERY. FIRST UNPLUG THE POWER CORD AND LET YOUR BATTERY RUN ALL THE WAY DOWN TO 5%. THEN PLUG YOUR POWER CORD BACK UP AND LET IT RE-CHARGE THE COMPUTER. SOMETIMES WHEN YOU FREQUENTLY UNPLUG YOUR AC ADAPTER YOUR BATTERY FORGETS HOW MUCH POWER IS ACTUALLY AVAILABLE IN CONJUNCTION TO WHAT THE BATTERY METER IS SHOWING. RECALIBRATING THE BATTERY WILL RE-SET THE METER WITH THE BATTERY.
