Re: computer wont start

I ran into the same problem with my Armada E500. In my case, it was a faulty RAM module. What I would suggest is start by removing the battery, and the charger. Then continue by removing the plastic section above your keyboard (there is a single screw holding it in place on the rear end of the laptop. This plastic covers the right-hand hindge) from there, there are four plastic tabs that you slide down to remove the keyboard. This will give you clear access to the ram. Remove the module(s) and, using a soft eraser, gently clean the contacts. If your laptop has two sticks of ram, I would also recommend putting them in opposite ram slots. After that, replace the keyboard and plastic bezzel, reconnect the battery and charger, and try to boot it up again

Re: computer wont start

Nothing is booting ......when in earnest I say that is the BIOS screen at the beginning not going too. When you say the lights all go but the computer does not BOOT can you clarify please what goes. Now you say the processor fan does not work I imagine you are INSIDE the unit to know this try pushing down on the CPU firmly with your hands it may have dislodged slightly it can do this sometimes.....Ive seen it happen. Now for the not booting I need to know what is if any?.

Needs to be pluged in to boot, but will run 1 hour plus on battery after boot. Lights come on, fan blows the it sits, no acivity. From that state plug in power, video and hard drive start to normal...

sounds like a bad battery, it takes more power to start then run, and once running windows will adjust power usage based on availability. If the amperage of the battery is insufficient the laptop will turn on but won't boot

All power and start button lights function, but the macine will not boot. have tried several suggested power down/up and motherboard power discharge procedures. I bought unit second hand and notice that...

kind of you did but did you check your processor it can have some problem like not put in correctly or if its a pin processor then one or more of the pins on the bottom might have broken down while putting it in. before you even turn on the computer check on the motherboard if the led light is on if it is not then it is not getting any power. you should also check the fan on the processor if it is working or not.

The charging light flashes on my toshiba l30 but computer doesn't start

could be anything from a bad adaptor to a bad battery , how ever sometimes the fan is pluged with dust ,blow on the fan and see if you get the fan started ,the computer wont start without the cooling fan on to protect the processor

Acer laptop travemate wont even make any noise or boot up... why?

My initial thought would be that your battery will no longer hold a charge or that your power supply has gone bad. Try taking the battery out and booting the computer with JUST the charger. Any change? How about booting from the battery alone? Have you had any spills on or near it in the last 6 months? If it turns out to be a battery, you can buy them online for around $70. There seems to be an abundance of parts for this model acer. It definitely sounds power related though. If its not the battery or the power supply, my last guess would be the motherboard. Good luck and let me know if things change as your are testing it.

Battery stopped working

Test your charger, the battery light blinking and the computer not starting up indicates not enough power to start up or not pluged into ac power, check the power adapter or charger. I suspect the battery is fine.

No Opening - The computer center control cover (A) continals to flash for 10 Seconds only

Make sure your power cord is pluged in and the indicator light in front is yellow (saying that it is "charging") - these cords are known to go bad quite often.

Your computer is saying there is not enough battery, or power to keep it from booting all the way up.
