Even though I think I have threaded machine correctly it does not sew fabric together. Just cuts fabric off but does not sew it!

Re: Machine not sewing

If you have the machine threaded correctly, and are absolutely sure. New needles installed and it still does not sew, you most definitely have a timing problem. You should take to a qualified service center to be properly timed.

Juki hl sewing machine thread not sewing

Is there power to the machine? Will the needle move? Did you switch the bobbin winder off? (Even if you think you have, try it again.) Is the machine clean and properly threaded? Can you use the handwheel to raise the bobbin thread? Did you hold the bottom and top threads together behind the presser foot when starting the seam? Is the needle new and right way around and fully up in the needle clamp? Can you sew on paper, but not fabric? Did you drop the presser foot?
Some more information would really help. (So would a complete model number!)

My Brother LS2521i has had issues with the top thread snapping, and bobbin thread getting tangled. I've dusted, rethreaded, and done every trick in the book. This is a BRAND new machine! I haven't been...

Check for nicks on the thread you are using. Also try turning the thread around it may be catching on a little cut at the bottem of your thread. Also are you using the white circular piece which has a hole in the center looks like cotten batten ? That helps sometime to make the thread unravel correctly. Place that on then put your thread on.

I am sewing upholstry fabric together in a pillow with piping and heavy zipper. Thread will not go through fabric correctly and there are no stitches.

Hi. Unthread and rethread everything, clean out any lint, and oil the machine. This, plus using the right size needle (size 16 or higher) and thread (heavy duty), should do the trick.

Let me know if this solves the problem, ok?

Good luck!

When i use sewing cloth in backside the thread will too loose then i use tension tight it correct in 8 number but manual book says 4 or 5 is correct wat can i do help me

Unthread your machine and set the tension to 4.5. rethread your machine up to the needle and then put the presser foot down. If the thread pulls hard, your machine is threaded right if it pulls easily, the thread is not thru the tension wheel correctly.

Rule of thumb:: loops on the top, problem on the bottom.
loops on the bottom, problem on the top.

Kenmore 385 model Automatic Button Hole Apparatus Jams Thread?

Practice and practice some more! Use the same fabric and interfacing as your project and a NEW needle (the correct needle) This is for the Sears Kenmore 385 automatic button hole maker. Make sure you pull the bobbin thread through the Guide Block - it is that simple. Make sure you pull your thread to the back of the machine though the presser foot slot - the correct presser foot. Account for both thread tails before starting to sew. Keep thread tails to the back of the machine 4-5", insert fabric under presser foot keeping thread tails clear. Mark button hole and sew.

Janome 1600P-DB Tension Works For So Long...

It sounds as though the thread is jumping out of the tension assembly. The next time this happens, do not raise the presser foot before you do the following.Cut the thread above the needle and pull on it.If it is working properly there will be tension on it.If it is not working properly, the thread will pull through very easily. If the thread is coming out of the tension , either it isn't threaded correctly or you may need to wrap the thread around the bobbin winder guide to keep it from coming out.If you wrap it around the bobbin winder guide reduce the tension to around 2 , 3 or even less.
Hope this helps.

Machine not sewing

Make sure you have threaded the machine from right to left, it sounds like the needle thread is trapped under the lower looper thread and cannot form a stitch.........start the threading over from scratch like this:

  1. Lower Looper
  2. Upper Looper
  3. Left Needle
  4. Right Needle
Is there a diagram for how to thread on the inside of the door ?

Follow that slowly and carefully to make sure you have not missed any thread guides on the way, as each one needs to be followed through to ensure correct tension and thread progression.

If you are certain that all threaded correctly, did you have a fabric jam and pulled it loose ? If so, the timing may well be affected.

Post an update and we'll get this right.
