Convert each of them to an improper fraction. Then multiply the first (the numerator) by the reciprocal of the second.
With a calculator that has fraction capabilities just enter the first mixed number enclosed in parentheses then divide it by the second mixed number (enclosed in parentheses). Parentheses are used to make sure that the operations are carried out as intended.

Probably the simplest is to convert both numbers to improper fractions then divide.
Some calculators can work with fractions. With one of those, simply enter the first mixed number, then divide by the other.

What is the petrol to 2 stroke oil ratio for the 61

really? grade school math.

Divide 1 by the total number of parts (water + solution). For example, if your mixratio is 8:1 or 8 parts water to 1 part solution, there are (8 + 1) or 9 parts. The mixing percentage is 11.1% (1 divided by 9). If your mix ratio is 4:1 or 4 parts water to 1 part solution, there are (4 + 1) or 5 parts.

Reduce this tothe lowest terms 711over 22

The fraction 711/22 is an improper fraction (the numerator is greater than the denominator).
While there is nothing incorrect about this, an improper fraction is typically simplified further into a mixed number.
The whole number part of the mixed number is found by dividing the 711 by the 22. In this case we get 32.

The fractional part of the mixed number is found by using the remainder of the division, which in this case is 7 (711 divided by 22 is 32 remainder 7).

The final answer is: 32 7/22

How to divide 1 2/3 by 3

First make 1 2/3 into a mixed fraction and then divide it by 3.
To make 1 2/3 into a mixed fraction, multiply the whole number, in this case, 1, by the denominator (the bottom number) and then add the numerator (the top number). Thus, we get (1*3+2)/3 or 5/3. Now we have to take 5/3 and divide it by 3. I was taught that in this case, dividing by 3 is the same as multiplying by 1/3. 5/3 x 1/3 = 5/9.

If you have access to a calculator you can always check this. On the calculator, do 2 divided by 3 and add 1. Now take that answer and divide by 3. Write down this answer. Now take 5 and divide by 9. Write down this answer. They should be the same.

Good luck.

How does dividing mixed numbers compare with dividing fractions?

This may not be what you want, but I turn the mixed number into a fraction. Say 5 1/2, you multiply the whole number (5) by the denominator for the fraction (2), then add the numerator. So you have 5X2+1. That is the new numerator, it goes over the denominator. This gives you 11/2. To check it divide the numerator by the denominator. 2 into 11 gives you 5 (Rem) 1. 1 is the numerator now and it goes over the denomerator. 5 1/2.
I know it sounds like a lot, but try about ten or so, it becomes 2nd nature. You can make it all into decimal, 5 1/2 becomes 5.5, but now you have to put more numbers into the equation.
This is true. I had a math teacher ask me if he had to cut down a tree so I'd have enough scratch paper.

How to divide mixed numbers

Convert both to improper fractions, divide, then simplify.

3 3/4 is 15/4, 1 1/8 is 9/8. Dividing 15/4 by 9/8 is 120/36. Reducing to lowest terms gives 10/3, which is 3 and 1/3.

How to divide mixed numbers

Since you didn't give any mixed numbers, I'll first divide one fraction by the other.

1/3 divided by 13/9 is the same as 1/3 multiplied by 9/13. Multiply 1 by 9 to get 9, multiply 3 by 13 to get 39. The result is 9/39, which reduces to 3/13.

Mixed numbers

Proper fraction e.g. 3/5, input 3, divide, 5, =, answer 0.6

Improper fraction, either enter as improper fraction, or enter the whole number first, then +, then the proper fraction as before, then =.

E.g. 8/5 which is "1 and 3/5': enter 1, +, 3, "divide", 5 =, answer is 1.6

Or, just 8, "divide", 5, same 1.6 answer. Why go to mixed number first?

13/5 which is "2 and 3/5", enter 2, +, 3, "divide", 5, =, answer is 2.6. Or, just 13/5, same answer
