Unfortunately, Dell does not have Windows 7 drivers available for download for the Inspiron 9100. You can click the link below to download the online service manual for steps removing and replacing the modem in your computer.

After logging in and you are at your desktop go to start and in the search box type run. click on run once it appears and a small box will pop up. In this box type msconfig this is your startup lineup so to speak. Click on the tab at the top that says startup and you will see a whole list with check marks next to them. Go down the list and uncheck anything that you may recognize that you do not need, such as google toolbar, yahoo im and so on.. it will then ask you to restart your computer, go ahead and do so. One important thing to remember is to never uncheck anything that says windows on it, these files are needed to run and start windows. You also may want to do a disk cleanup. You do this by going to start, programs, accessories, maintenance and there will be something saying disk clean up. place check marks in each box that has numbers to the left of it. This will delete all of your temp files and things that are not needed. This together should make your system speed up some.

go to http://support.dell.com and click on downloads and drivers. Go through the on-screen prompts and enter your model number and OS, and you'll get pointed to the drivers for your machine. Aside from installing the modem drivers, it sounds like you should re-install the touchpad drivers (also there).
