You dont need any specific drivers.

As long as you have Windows XP / SP2 and Windows Media Player 10 or higher. The drivers are part of these required components.

OK HERE IS ONE PROBLEM WITH THESE PLAYERS. AS FAR AS USB CONNECTION THERE ARE 2 DIFFERENT MODES 'msc" AND "mtb" MODES. iF YOUR PLAYER DOES NOT GET RECOGNIZED BY WINxp THAN GO INTO THE MENU OF YOUR PLAYER AND CHANGE THE "USB" MODE SETTING IN THE ADVANCED SETTINGS AREA. YOUR SANSA WILL BE RECOGNIZED !

Well, my both computers doesnt recognize (1.Vista, 2. XP + 2000 Prof) Sansa m240 in both modes.

Is it possible that MP3's USB doesnt work, while player works like its new?

I'm having the same problem but I have a Mac, so I do need software of some kind. My computer doesn't recognize the device. And advice? I've gone to the Sandisk site and there's nothing for the m240 on their downloads page.
