Problem for Samsung BD-P1200 Blu-Ray Disc Player
Samsung bd-p1200 won't play new "quantum of solace"
We can view the previews, and menu, than after hitting play, the mgm logo and the federal warning...than nothing...The last firmware update from December will not allow play of the movie...any suggestions? Samsung techs said they do not know when next firmware update is...Perhaps there is another firmware update which is compatible? HELP!!!

- I have a Samsung BRD player. Bought Quantom of Solace and couldn't get past the menu screen. Returned disc and got new one, same problem. Walmart put it in their Sony BRD player and it worked no problem. I bought my Samsung 2 months ago at Costco and have had no issues with 20 or so other BRDs. We had a big group to watch the first QofS movie and it didn't play and was very disappointing. Any solutions???- narrowsApr 18, 2009

I too had this problem with Qauntum of Solace, I could get past the teasers and the warnings but when it gets to the main menu I select PLAY and it just stops at 00:00.
The firmware upgrade fixed it!
However I had to make a CD because the LAN method said I already had the latest version.
I downloaded Ver 2.5 from Samsung support site - ( http://pages.samsung.com/us/bluraysupport/support.html)
Then I needed to get Nero Burning ROM software (windows version) to burn an IMAGE of the .ISO file (I use a Mac and just burning the file onto a CD didn't work) You have to follow these instructions to the letter - ( http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.com/downloadfile/ContentsFile.aspx?CDSite=us&CttFileID=1488556&CDCttType=FM&ModelType=C&ModelName=BD-P1200&VPath=FM/200710/20071012103832890_BD-P1200_CD_Update_Process.pdf )
Finally the player recognized the firmware and did the upgrade to 081119_T22F_0924.07_XAA
Voila, QoS now plays without a hitch.

My problem is the same. You can view the previews select "play" but nothing happens!! At first i thought it was just the disc but i returned for the same exact movie and the same problem occurred. I only have certain blu rays that'll play. Does anyone have the answer?
