Question about Sansui DTV2760 27" TV

Sound isn't working correctly

The sound on two stations (ABC and NBC) are not working and on one I am receiving a weather radio channel. I called the cable company and they said the problem is with the SAP on the television. I have tried everything I know on the remote to reset, but cannot find SAP on the remote anywhere. 1. Does the tv have SAP capabilities? 2. If so, how do I get to it? 3. If not, what else might be wrong with the sound?

Re: Sound isn't working correctly

Hello dotdeb99, Use your remote to go to the menu on your TV and scroll through the menu items, you should see the SAP feature. Then turn it off. You can also get the users manual for your TV on-line and it should have SAP instructions in it. Just remember SAP is a TV menu item, it will not be actually on the remote itself. Thank you.

You're cable company may have quit using TV Guide info from "TV Guide", because they want you to get their box for this info, or to save expense. It happened here in Michigan about a year ago. If you have local ABC, NBC, and PBS stations, you can get this info downloaded nightly through an external "over-the-air" antenna.-- assuming you're in the U.S.

check your remote control for a button called SAP
it means Secondary Audio Program, and some channels run news feeds, weather, espanol , etc.
Other stations will simply have no sound at all.

Unable to get consistent reception on ABC (channel 7 NY)

The antenna may be the problem in your case but I was getting New York 7 digital with a strong signal before the transition on June 12th and now I do not get any signal. I use a rather large VHF /UHF roof antenna mounted in my attic. The compass heading for NBC NY 4.1 is 169 deg and 18 mile from my location according to I get this channel with a strong signal. Comparably ABC NY 7.1 is 170 deg and 18.7 miles from my location and I do not get a signal. Perhaps ABC NY is having some problem with the transition. It does not make sense assuming the information of is correct. BTW if and outdoor or attic mounted antenna is not an option I would recommend the following antenna. I used this for my friends? setup when she was having problems with rabbit ears. It also got some pretty high user reviews and is not expensive. It is for both indoor and outdoor applications. Good Luck!

you will need to hook your signal to the converter box then into your vcr and then into your TV. Now if your vcr has signal out then you will not have any problems hooking your tv up to the vcr. You may have to use the audio out to get the right sound with your tv.

Converter Box Problem

What type of antenna are you adjusting? If it is not a UHF then you will have to try another such as a Smart Antenna or one from Wal-Mart for digital TV.

Cannot get local channels back after dropping cable.

Are you positive that your city has not done the Digital Conversion? Some Cities are doing it early before the February deadline. Also make sure you are tuning in to the correct channels. Meaning that if on your Cable Provider ABC was on Channel 3 that does not mean that ABC with still be on Channel 3 after you have your Cable turned off. Most of the Time the Local Stations Tag will let you know what channel its on. It will be something like "KWAS ABC 27" So on your TV you would Tune it to channel 27 to get ABC and the same fore NBC , FOX, CBS , etc...
I hope this helps Take Care =)
