A discolored Blob or blotchy pattern usually in the center of the screen. the problem is becoming all too common with Hitachiprojection sets. What happens is that one of the lenses in the optical block (or light engine) starts to burn (in thi scase the blue one) or discolor due to overheating because of a blocked air filter causing poor air (cooling) circulation. Nothing can be done when the damage is too far-gone except to replace the light engine-at a cost that makes it not worth repair. if the damage is minimal than to reduce further damage, the air filter should be replaced. The Light engine needs to be removed in order to replace the air filter. Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!
Hello,
If you have RED color that starts from Center of the Screen,(no red color on sides ) 100 % your light engine is deffective..
In order to solve this issue Replace Light Engine Control Board (also called Driver Board ) attached to light engine.
Try resetting the TV by unplugging from wall outlet for 3 to5 minutes then plug back in. If no fixya take front grill off and panel and adjust the screen controls, turn color off adjust for Black & White Picture. Good Luck, big IRISH.
use the advanced options page and reset the factor blue and red convergence defaults then do re apply the auto color defaults color at first it seemed very red (which is good because red was the missing factor in the green picture) but after reseting all the color and tints to the normal ranges I then reset the color auto correct again and all seems fine.
sounds like image burn, try it on normal viewing size and see if its still there and in the same area if so image burn on crt from the 4:3 aspect mode .
first try going to the menu on the tv and adjusting the red blue and green tint....if not the u need to remove the front pannel and move the the the top left knob on the setting to lower the tint...
