Shutdown your PC. Unplug the power from the router and the cable modem. Wait 30 sec. then plug in the power to the cable modem, wait 30 sec. then plug the power to the router. Wait till you have "Internet" light then restart your PC. The PC should pick up an IP address and you should be able to get on-line. This is if you have a cable service provider.
To access the Linksys setup page:
Using your web browser go to URL address http://192.168.1.1. You will then be prompted to login to your router. A log-in screen asking for the password will automatically appear. At this time enter the default password “admin”, in lower case letters into the password field. The username field may be left blank at this time. (Note: both the default username and default password are set to “admin” on some of the newer Linksys router models).
Follow the instructions below to set up your wireless name and encryption:
Linksys suggests changing the SSID (network name) and the Wireless Channel of your router. Also, if it is possible, enable the Wireless Security of your router.
To change the router’s SSID or the wireless network’s name, click here. To enable the wireless security on the router, click here.
After you do all the above, click on the wireless icon in the sytem tray by the clock on your laptop. Then click on "View all wireless networks". There you will see your network, click on it and type in your security key twice.
You should be able to get online.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe
