Here is a list of the planes and how to unlock them: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/code/559688.html Also, if you haven't checked it out yet, I suggest the Ace Combat series. It feels a little more arcadey but it has a pretty wide range of planes and is very fun.

Do you need a type rating to fly your own Bitchcraft 1900 or Cessna CJ2?

The type rating is required in aircraft that need additional training. It is a safety of flight issue not a for hire issue.

Why can t commercial airplanes use electronic view screens, like on Star Trek?

Modern Jet airliners already have electronic screens that depict the ground, the sky, maps, terrain and many more things, They are known as "Glass Cockpit" aircraft. These aircraft can land in Zero visibility fully automatically without the pilots having to see out of the window at all, just viewing the screens. The problems are in training of the flight crews. Full automated approaches and landings are far more exacting on the flight crew than a normal visual landing and crews have to be specially trained and certified to do them. The thought that on an automatic landing the pilots just sit there and do nothing is far from reality. The procedure is one of intense concentration and if the aircraft so much a twitches the pilots will abandon the approach, they have to watch everything. Training flight crews is a very expensive business and an international operator would have to have about nine crews for just one aircraft. Training those crews to operate with just view screens would blow the training budget out the bank. No matter how cleaver these modern jets are the fastest computer on board is still the one between the pilots ears and using all his senses and especially sight through a window will be with us for some time.

Is being a locomotive engineer more difficult than being a commercial airline pilot?

The demand for pilots within the next 10 years will be extremely high globally. You are correct, not many train engineer schools out there but as far as difficulty each have their bulk share of responsibilities for safe operation.

Pilot Career Help?

Usually, once you have a private pilot certificate you would go for an instructor rating and work as a flight instructor to build flight time (while making money). Along the way you could also be working on your commercial, multi engine, and air transport pilot ratings and certificates. It takes time to get into the airlines, mostly because you need to build flight time and experience. Even when you first break into the airlines the pay is kind of pathetic, but it builds quickly over time.

Is it possible for a flight school to pay for your pilot training?

Not likely. Flight schools get paid for teaching people how to fly. If they paid you for learning how to fly, they would go out of business. If you worked for them you could gain flight hours teaching others to fly, but you need hundreds of hours before you can become a flight instructor.

What does Air Traffic Controllers mean when they say "12 o'clock" to a pilot? or 6 o'clock ?

it is the relative direction around the aircraft using a clock face. 12 oclock is in front of the pilot, 6 oclock behind. 3 oclock to the right etc. it is also used with high, level or low. for example, a contact off to the right and above the flight level of the pilots aircraft would be 2 oclock high.

Am I too late to become an airline pilot?

Many colleges offer flight training. Two that come to mind are UND and University of Cincinnati but there are many others. You might look into that as most airlines want a degree also. Regional airlines pay is garbage but you get raises pretty quickly as your time builds.

Is studying an airplane pilot hard?? Do it need much studying or its more practices on driving it?

Getting your aircraft pilot's license takes work (and money), but it is well within the reach of anyone of normal intelligence and physical ability. I've known college students who basically collected pop bottles for the deposit, and picked up part time work on weekends, and managed to get an hour or two of training every month or so. Took them a couple of years to get their license, but they managed it.

For a normal category license, you are looking at about 40 to 60 hours of flight training (actual time in the plane). Not all of that requires an instructor. Once you "solo," you will be allowed to fly by yourself (with the instructor's approval). Often the training aircraft will be older and very basic planes - but that's just fine. It's the basics that you are learning.

It takes lots of practice, and there is a lot of book learning (weather, regulations, principles of flight) as well. But you can do it if you want to. Most things that are really valuable take work.
