I can send a fax but I can not receive a fax after

-   We have this model (Sharp AM-900) and also moved our office. When we had a distinctive ring on the line, it was fine, now we have just one line. We cannot get it to pick up a fax _automatically_ during the OGM of our answering machine.

Either we can set it to pick up first (then its the fax only), or we set it to more rings than our answering machine and it doesnt pick up. If you sit by the machine and press 'START', while the answering machine is going, it will take the fax, but that is a drag.

The way it is supposed to work, you put the machine into 'FAX Only' reception mode, and have it set # rings. You do this by:

Menu-Enter-Right-Right-Right-Enter-Enter-1-Enter-4-End-End-End

The '4' sets 4 rings. Set your answering machine to '3' rings.

Make sure your telephone line goes to the AM-900 first, then from there to the rest of the office (if you can). That will cut-off the rest of the office when the machine is taking/sending a fax.

However, as I said, the machine ignores the line after the answering machine picks it up. We also tried '2' instead of '1' above, but that had no effect, and when we did that, we couldn't press the 'START' button when we sat by the machine to get a fax.

Sigh.
